Founded in 1905, Rotary is a worldwide organisation of 1.2 million people in over 160 countries, dedicated to serving the community.

Rotary is based on the ideals of community service and friendship within a framework of high ethical standards. The objectives of Rotary are:

  • Forming friendships and engaging through a group as an opportunity of service.
  • High ethical standards in business, professional and individual conduct, regardless of occupation or role in life.
  • The application of the ideal of service by every Rotarian to their personal and community life.
  • The advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of people united in the ideal of service.

Each Rotary Club is part of a district. The Rotary Club of Pittwater is part of district 9680 which includes 68 Rotary clubs in the area bounded by Sydney Harbour to the South, the Parramatta River and Kellyville to the West, the Central Cost to the North and Sydney’s Northern Beaches to the East.
