Club NewsHerbert Perlich: Some life stories from Post-war Europe
A child fleeing from persecution in Sudetenland, a youth struggling to get an education and a trade qualification in war ravaged Europe, a young father settling in Holland before emigrating to Australia, tough times indeed!! ![]() These were stories shared with us by Herbert Perlich who was our guest speaker last week. Equipped with maps and photos, Herbert entertained the Rotarians right through to the end of the refreshment break. Herbert’s talk was very enlightening to all and some details were even news to Larraine Hall who was his neighbour for 13 years. Car parking = Fundraising + Fun The World Equestrian Games held at Pittwater Rugby Park gave the Club the opportunity to raise some funds for our projects. Between 23-26 October, Pittwater Rotarians obtained gold coin donations from the attendees wishing to park their cars. The net funds raised were approx $1400. Thanks to the visiting public and to the Rotary volunteers, Jean, Roslyn Doreen, Arthur, Larraine, Arthur, Mike, Noela, Doug, Graham, John, Judy W, Bob B, Bob M, Asahel, Bruce and Len.
