What a Night!

The Reason

Pittwater Rotary is proud to dedicate the major proceeds of our  2011 concert to the Palliative Care Centre at Mona Vale Hospital. The Centre works to improve the quality of life of people of all ages with a life-threatening illnesses and to support their families. The Centre operates out of a small building (The Cottage) on the grounds of Mona Vale Hospital, providing palliative care services to Northern Beaches families.

The Orchestra

Founded in 2008 to give talented local musicians a chance to excel, and to enhance our community cultural life, the Northern Beaches Orchestra has quickly become one of Australia's premier community orchestras. Pittwater Rotary is excited to be able to showcase this Northern Beaches treasure.

Live and Silent Auctions

The evening also included a live and a silent auction, with a number of desirable items up for sale. Our live auction featured the following exciting items:

• 2004 State of Origin jersey signed by the members of the winning NSW team.
• Beautiful large outdoor timber table donated by Beachwood in Avalon.
• Seven-night accommodation at a holiday apartment on Hamilton Island.
• Three-day South Coast weekend at a luxurious Jervis Bay holiday home.
• Twelve month membership to a local Fresh Start fitness centre.
• Pair of boxing gloves signed by the federal Leader of the Opposition, Tony Abbott.
• An exciting seascape painting by acclaimed Newport artist Eric Martel.

The Venue

Thanks to the generous support of United Cinemas, our concert was held in the Grand Theatre at United Cinemas Warriewood, an expansive, luxurious auditorium with plush seating, brilliant accoustics and perfect sight-lines.
