The Rotary Club of PittwaterLocationOur club covers the Pittwater Council group of suburbs. This is the part of the Northern Beaches area of Sydney, from North Narrabeen to Palm Beach. The area is virtually surrounded by water, being bordered by the Tasman Sea, Narrabeen Lake and Pittwater itself. HistoryThe club was formed on February 18, 1960 with the support of the Rotary Club Of Warringah. Our charter was granted on July 28, 1960 with a membership of 27. Initially the club met at the Newport Arms Hotel. Until 2004 the club met at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club at Newport and in 2004 we changed our meeting place to the Royal Motor Yacht Club. Club MeetingsEach Wednesday, 6.30pm for 6.45pm start at the Royal Motor Yacht Club, Prince Alfred Parade, Newport, NSW. Club focusClub focus is on participation rather than just fundraising, with a number of ongoing programs that have become part of Pittwater community life. Membership numbers reached 40 in 2003, bringing the Club into the medium size bracket. Today, the club membership stands at 27.
